The education of Minnesota’s children is a shared responsibility of local school districts and state government. MASA is committed to participating in the legislative process to support student success throughout our state, foster innovation within the education system, and create a world-class workforce.

The 2020 Legislative Session convenes Tuesday, February 11th.

As one of the strongest voices for public education, MASA has a solid and collaborative working relationship with state and federal policymakers, state department officials and other educational associations. Together, we work to promote progressive ideas to improve our schools. Over the course of the session, we ask our members to participate in our advocacy by attending Capitol visits and contacting their legislators regularly. Our memberships’ involvement during the session is vital to a successful outcome.

Management Concerned for Public Education (MCPE)
is MASA’s political action committee and is independent of any state or national political party. MASA’s regular revenue dollars (such as dues) cannot be used for lobbying, yet political activities are extremely important in influencing the policymaking process. Funds from the MCPE allow us to have access to our policymakers.

We encourage all MASA members to join!
Help MASA carry out its legislative goals, which cannot be accomplished without YOUR support.
