    Minnesota 2018 Aspiring Superintendents’ AcademySuccess

    A partnership among

The Minnesota Association of School Administrators (MASA)

The American Association of School Administrators (AASA)

National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) and

    Minnesota Service Cooperative

The Minnesota Aspiring Superintendents’ Academy provides a rich, collegial cohort opportunity for school leaders who wish to become Minnesota School Superintendents. The Academy focuses on developing a professional practice in the superintendency that is grounded in evidence-based knowledge, skills, and dispositions that contribute to successful capstone leadership. Sessions are taught by experienced, effective school leaders and each participant will be paired with a coach for guidance during the cohort and beyond.

Participation will be limited to 30; applications will be screened for the highest quality candidates.  Those selected for participation in the program will be outstanding, high-performing leaders whose next logical career moves would be to the superintendency. This program will support transition into the first position as superintendent and each participant will receive a certificate of completion. Please note that this is not a licensure program.

The Academy includes 10 Content Days in 5 sessions and will include additional opportunities for personalized learning. Every participant will complete a skill assessment as part of the orientation process and will have an individual learning plan to guide their learning.

All sessions are located at the MASA Building in St. Paul. The cost to participants is $1,000 per person. Fees include program, materials, refreshments, and meals during the sessions.  Participants are responsible for travel and lodging. We have secured a discounted lodging rate at several area hotels. The program is offered at this affordable cost due to the support of NJPA and AASA.
