The leadership of successful schools centers on a vision for learning. Highly effective instruction for all students, delivered by excellent teachers, is a goal for all school leaders. Leaders of systems in which all students reach their learning goals focus on teaching and the specific needs of students. This fall, join your colleagues as we examine strategies for quality instruction.
Each year in November, MASA hosts the Curriculum Leaders of Minnesota (CLM) Conference. CLM was started in 2004 by a group of curriculum leaders who approached MASA and asked that a conference specifically for curriculum leaders be added to the fall schedule.
Through the following years, attendance at the CLM conference has varied, from 88 participants our first year, to 67 our third year, to 212 the landmark year that the math standards were featured.
Our audience has likewise varied — from a majority of the participants being curriculum “directors,” “coordinators.” or tosas with curriculum responsibilities, to data coordinators, assessment coordinators, instructional innovators, integrated technology specialists, etc., etc., etc. As principals have focused more and more on instructional leadership, we have seen an increased interest in curriculum issues by building administrators.
Last year, MASA was excited to welcome our new members of the Technology Leaders of Minnesota component group!
